In July 1962, George N. Jonson finished his three-year tour of duty with the United States Air Force as a First Lieutenant in the Judge Advocate Corps, prosecuting and defending military courts martial cases. During his three years in the United States Air Force, he had more than a hundred trials involving prosecuting and defending cases in front of Special and General Courts martial.
A graduate of the Ohio State University and the University of Cincinnati, College of Law, George has been serving Hamilton, Ohio and the surrounding area for forty-five (45) years. The proud son of Greek immigrants, the Jonson name has a long tradition of service in Butler County. George served ten (10) years on the Hamilton City Council and is currently a member of the Hamilton, Ohio, City School Board, being first elected in 1981. George maintains a busy law practice which concentrates primarily on Personal Injury Cases, Wills, Estate and Probate Practice along with Corporate, Business Law, and Real Estate Transactions.
In October 1962 while campaigning for a new Jail Bond Issue, George met Hugh D. Holbrock. Hugh having a busy law practice, asked George to join him. In December of 1962, George moved his office to the, then “Dollar Federal Building” to begin practicing law with Hugh D. Holbrock. Subsequently, in 1963 Hugh and George became partners, starting the Law Firm of Holbrock & Jonson. As the years went on, the practice began to grow and in 1967 Hugh and George designed and constructed their own office building, where George N. Jonson, Co., LPA, is currently located at: 315 South Monument Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio. The move to their new building allowed the firm to grow and provide convenient parking for their clients.
Hugh D. Holbrock, retired in 1997 after a hugely successful career. In October of 2001, Hugh passed away.
In October 2006, George N. Jonson sold his building at 315 South Monument Avenue, Hamilton, Ohio, to the law firm of Brandabur, Bowling & Crehan. George remains with this firm as “Of Counsel” status, maintaining his own full time practice.
