Notable Former Associates

Over the years Hugh and George hired law students to work for them while earning their degree in law school and most, subsequently, began full time practice with the firm. They have included the following:

• James Walsh recently retired as a Judge on the 12th District Court of Appeals,
• H. J. Bressler, who had an outstanding trial career with both Holbrock & Jonson and on his own with Bressler, Shanks and Gedling and subsequently was elected to the Butler County Common Pleas Court.
• Judge Bressler now serves on the 12th District Court of Appeals.
• Randy T. Rogers who began his practice with Holbrock & Jonson and later started his own firm and was elected as Probate Judge of Butler County, Ohio and continues
to serve as Probate Court Judge.
• Al Edmunds who practiced law with Holbrock & Jonson for a number of years before going out on his own and has continued to engage in the practice of law in Butler County.
• Timothy R. Evans who started with Holbrock & Jonson as a law student and later became a partner and served as a partner in the firm for many years-Tim has now established his own law practice.
• Michael D. Shanks is one of the exceptions who was practicing law in Cincinnati, Ohio and wanted to come back to Hamilton, Ohio and served as an outstanding partner with Holbrock & Jonson and established a reputation as an outstanding criminal defense lawyer both with Holbrock & Jonson and during a ten (10) year period when he was with Bressler, Shanks and Gedling. Michael Shanks now maintains his own practice in Hamilton, Ohio.
• James Gedling is another outstanding lawyer who started with Holbrock & Jonson as a law student doing research and investigation and during sixteen (16) years in the practice of law did an outstanding job in the field of Domestic Relations in
Butler County, Ohio.
• Adolf Olivas, was a former associate and partner of the firm and is a hometown boy who made good, spending a number of years with the law firm of Holbrock & Jonson before going out on his own in 1999.

Others who have practiced with the firm of Holbrock & Jonson included:

• Congressman Steve Chabot who started off as an investigator while in law school. Subsequently, he practiced with the firm for several years before returning to his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio.
• Richard Hurchanik, currently practicing in Hamilton, Ohio, started with the firm as an investigator.
• Hillary Stevenson, currently the City Law Director, also spent several years with the firm as an associate.
• Pat Wilkerson, a Magistrate in the Juvenile Court of Butler County, Ohio.
• Jon Fox, who maintains his own practice in Hamilton, Ohio, also spent several years with the firm as an associate.
• John T. Willard, Attorney at Law.
